I wish I had bought these months ago. I put one set on the front of my cross bike and since then I have had amazing stopping power with absolutely no brake shudder or brake chatter.I've heard complaints that springs weren't very strong, but they were plenty strong enough for my bike and balance easily so that they've never had to be adjusted since initially set. Works well with old style Shimano 105 levers (5600) on my cyclocross bike and on my tandem with older Dia-Compe road bike 'aero' levers once I got adjustable noodles and changed the pads.The major issue is that to get good brake feel the wheels must be perfectly true and the brakes adjusted for almost no clearance. So these brakes are great cyclocross brakes for areas that have mostly dry smooth courses. The big catch is that once they're adjusted that close you won't be able to remove the noodle from the straddle to release the wheel without deflating it. IMO, adjustable noodles, Origin8 V-Brake Barrel Adjuster Noodle - 90-degree, are absolutely required for use with previous generation STI levers and other levers that pull the same amount of cable and lack a quick release function at the lever.
